About Wei-Ting (Amy) Chen

Wei-Ting Chen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas. She received her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University (SHSU) and is supervised by Theresa Fusaro, M.A., LPC-S.

Wei-Ting is experienced in working with people of all ages but is especially passionate about her work with young adults. She gained her experience from a variety of environments, including community counseling, pregnancy and sexual health, community college, school, domestic violence and sexual assault, and inpatient psychiatric hospital settings. She strives to create a supportive and non-judgmental environment for her clients while working at their pace to help them achieve their goals and meet their needs. Wei-Ting believes each individual has the ability to overcome their obstacles to become who they want to be, and that journey begins with a safe, trusting relationship. She promotes personal growth, healthy adjustments and life transitions, and positive self-esteem. She also possesses the skills in helping clients manage stress, anger, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, trauma, and acculturation related issues.

Wei-Ting is originally from Taiwan. She can provide counseling in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese. In her free time, she likes to travel, explore new and delicious foods, watch TV shows and movies, hang out with friends and family, and play with her cat, Mr. Mickey.
